Boogerman enjoys a relaxing stand
EMERYVILLE - With popular video games running the gamut of Hollywood films,Pixar Animation Studios announced today that the classic Super Nintendo title Boogerman: A Pick and Flick Adventure will find its way to the silver screen in 2009. The movie, titled “Boogerman: The Flick,” is set to start production in summer of 2008.
Directing the movie will be acclaimed director/producer John Lasseter, whose body of work includes movies like Toy Story and Cars. Lasseter will be joined by Executive producer Brad Lewis who has worked on such films as Ratatouille and Broken Arrow.
When asked about his apparent enthusiasm for the film, Lasseter said “I have always been a fan of Boogerman. I play that game probably twice a month when I’m bored. I’ve even dressed as him before, though I ended up getting fired from that job.”
No word yet on who will be starring in the film as the voice of Boogerman, but rumor has Pixar in talks with Clive Owen over the lead role.
The plot of the film, however, has been mentioned in brief detail. According to sources at Pixar, the film will follow the adventures of Boogerman as he tries to assimilate into modern society after his battle with Professor Stinkbaum.
The film is set for a Fall 2009 release.
